American pop star Madonna has recorded an original song for the global environmental and musical event known as Live Earth called, “Hey You”.
The single will not be released on a commercial scale to radio or television airwaves but will instead be made available for online purchasing with proceeds helping to fund Live Earth.
The Rolling Stones have denied a Fox News web report that they will play the Live Earth show in Britain on July 7.“Not happening,” a spokesman for the band said in an email.
Fox News columnist Roger Friedman reported on Tuesday that the Stones would headline the show at London’s Wembley Stadium.
Such an appearance would have necessitated postponing the band’s previously announced show for Rome on July 6, as it no longer plays consecutive nights. (More on Reuters.com)
Organizer Harvey Goldsmith said: “The act I really want to do the show is Prince. Here is a classic guy who is a genius. I was in Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago and Prince has a club in a hotel called Rio. He played a set there at midnight and he was mind blowing. It will be great if we can get him.”
Rolling Stone magazine confirmed other three names of artist to be involved in Live Earth concert. Police, Genesis and Kanye West confirmed to be in. “While big names like Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones and U2 have not yet signed on for the concert, organizers say they’re still in negotiations with a score of musicians and expect the final lineup to include more than 100 top acts,” comments Rolling Stone.
